Who We Are
Mauritius Resort Finder is an independent hotel review and affiliate site covering luxury resorts in Mauritius. For privacy-related enquiries, use the contact link in the site footer.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) and served via a global CDN. The domain mauritiusresortfinder.com is registered via Namecheap.
What Data We Collect
Analytics data (Google Analytics 4)
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects anonymised behavioural data including pages visited, time on page, referring source, device type, and geographic region at country or city level. GA4 does not collect your name, email address, or any information that directly identifies you.
GA4 sets cookies in your browser for session tracking and measurement. You can opt out of analytics tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Affiliate click data (Expedia)
When you click an affiliate link ("Check availability →"), Expedia may place a tracking cookie in your browser. This is Expedia's tracking system — we do not control it and we do not receive personally identifiable data from it. We receive only an anonymised commission notification if a booking is completed. Server logs (Cloudflare)
Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, may log basic request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and performance purposes. This data is processed by Cloudflare under their own privacy policy. We do not access individual server logs. For more information, see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Contact form / email
This site has no contact form. If you email us directly, we will process your email address and message content to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your email with any third party.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, we process your data on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — analytics data used to understand site performance and improve content. We assess this does not override your privacy rights given the anonymised nature of the data collected.
- Consent — affiliate tracking cookies set by Expedia upon clicking an affiliate link. You can avoid these cookies by not clicking affiliate links.
- Contract — if you email us with an enquiry, we process your data to respond.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with any third party for marketing purposes. Data passes to the following parties solely as part of operating the site:
- Google (GA4) — anonymised analytics data processed under Google's privacy terms
- Cloudflare — hosting infrastructure, request logs
- Expedia — affiliate click attribution (on click only)
Your Rights
Under GDPR and applicable privacy law, you have the right to access the data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, object to its processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Because we do not collect personally identifiable data directly (we use anonymised analytics), there is limited personal data for us to provide or delete on request. For analytics data, Google provides a GA opt-out browser add-on. For Expedia cookie data, clear your browser cookies or contact Expedia directly.
For privacy requests directed to us, use the contact link in the site footer. We will respond within 30 days.
Data Retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted by Google. Email correspondence is retained for as long as it is needed to resolve the query, and no longer.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy if our data practices change — for example, if we add new features, change analytics providers, or update affiliate arrangements. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date below. We will not notify you individually of changes.
